PARIS (AFP) - Sales in France of the French version of the latest Harry Potter book have already topped 800,000 copies since being released at the beginning of the month.
"Harry Potter et le Prince de Sang-Mele" ("Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince") was flying off the shelves so fast that 40 percent of the first French print run of the book has already been sold, the Gallimard company said Wednesday.
The sixth adventure in the phenomenally popular series by British author J.K. Rowling first came out in English on July 16 and has since sold more than nine million copies in that language in the United States and Britain alone.
