Moviefone Visits the Set of 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I'

Moviefone visited the set of 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I' and spoke to actors Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) and Mark Williams (Arthur Weasley), and directer David Yates.

'Deathly Hallows: Part I' is the first in the two-part adaptation of the final Harry Potter book. The second part arrives July 2011.

The young actors talked about their feelings on the penultimate film of the series and on saying goodbye to the Potter franchise. Radcliffe also touched on how Harry has changed as a character throughout the series as he -- as both an actor and a character -- has grown up.

"The whole series for me is about loss of innocence and about Harry going from this kind of wide-eyed child ... into this slightly grizzled young man by the end of it," Radcliffe told Moviefone's Mike Hess. "Although as I was saying to people the other day, it is essential that he does not turn into a man necessarily in the film, because what makes all that fight stuff at the end so powerful and so kind of horrible to watch is the fact that you're seeing a kid get beaten up by a very strong, very angry man."

'Deathly Hallows' marks the end of Harry's lifelong battle with the evil Lord Voldemort.

Check back here on Tuesday, Oct. 5, for the full set visit report and for interviews with Radcliffe, Grint, Williams and Yates.

'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I' premieres Nov. 19.

New J.K. Rowling Interview Quotes and Image from The Oprah Winfrey Show (Updated)

A press release issued today has a number of new quotations from J.K. Rowling's interview on The Oprah Winfrey Show, which will air this Friday, 1st October. Speaking to Oprah about the pressure of sudden stardom, Rowling says, "At that point, I kept saying to people, yeah I’m coping…but the truth was there were times when I was barely hanging on by a thread."

Update: A brand new image of J.K. Rowling and Oprah can now be seen here in our galleries!

The Harry Potter author also spoke about the moment she knew her life had changed forever, during her second tour of the USA:

There was this enormous Barnes & Noble, and I thought, oh my God. And the queue snaked up the street, up the Barnes & Noble, up through four floors and they took me in the back entrance. They opened the door and they screamed. They screamed….That’s a real stand-out moment for me. I knew it was getting big in that there was press attention and so on, but at that point, that for me...was when it felt 'Beatle-esque.'

Stay close to Leaky for more from the interview as it comes in! You can see the first images from the interview via this link.

Some Details about "Deathly Hallows: Part 1" Soundtrack Released

Conrad Pope, film composer and orchestrator, has updated his Facebook with comments on the "Deathly Hallows: Part 1" soundtrack:

Just finished the first week with the LSO of recording Alexandre Desplat’s score to “HP7”. Harry Potter now occupies a new musical universe. For Lovegood AD has written a charming, “groovin’” theme. Dobby, too, is given a new “voice”. The emotional music reaches its climax in Ron’s speech in the “wilderness” where the poetry of AD conveys the emotion in a single chord’s voicing. Stay tuned.

The soundtrack will be released on November 16th.

Now With More Space: Wizarding World Modifies Seats on Forbidden Journey Ride

A few weeks ago we told you about a man named Banks Lee who lost 12 pounds so he could ride The Forbidden Journey at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Banks has kept a running blog of his progress and trips to the Wizarding World and today took a trip to the park after a reader posted that the seats had been modified! Upon his return, Banks posted the following:

"Decided to head out there today and test out the modified seats, and let me tell you, they are a much needed addition to Forbidden Journey! Let me explain the process of riding in a test seat. At the entrance to the ride, and right before the loading area, there are test seats. Used to be every person had to get three clicks in order to ride, and the restraint was not very forgiving for larger guests.

Now, with the addition of the modified seats, the test seat process has changed. When you sit down, there are three lights next to you; red, yellow, and green. As I stated earlier in the post, red=no ride, yellow=modified seat, and green=sit anywhere. If you get yellow and need a modified seat, once you get to the part before the loading platform where the second test seat is, the attendant will put you in the middle line, which is reserved for guests needing the modified seat.

Since there are only around 8 vehicles that currently have modified seating, you have to wait for one to come around. Once it does come you go to the loading platform, and choose either of the outside seats. The two middle seats are not modified. You still need three clicks to be able to ride, but they are now much easier to get, especially with the little extra room you have in the seat."

Banks said only one rider has been turned away since the change, as opposed to 50-60 people last week. Banks also added he will continue to diet despite the seat changes. Read the full post right here!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Teaser Poster Quickly Appreciating in Price

The Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows teaser poster has been quickly appreciating in price since its release a few months ago.

I bought the poster from an online movie poster shop for $30.00 about a month ago. That same poster is now selling for $49.99 on one movie poster website and the shop that I bought mine from is now asking $55.00 for the poster.

I've been collecting movie posters since the 1970's and I've never bought a poster that rose in price this fast! Usually it takes years for a poster to appreciate in price. So if you're interested in buying the HP&tDH teaser poster, I would do it now. It's liable to cost close to $100.00 by the end of the year.

And Warner Bros. hasn't even released the final release poster for Deathly Hallows yet. I suspect that poster will start out high on the poster shops' websites. Harry's still got the magic!

The Oprah Winfrey Show Looking for Harry Potter Fans

The Oprah Show is searching for Harry Potter fans willing to appear on the programme to talk about how J.K. Rowling and the Harry Potter series has inspired them or their family. A short description on the application to appear on the show reads as follows:

What life lessons has the Harry Potter series taught you? Did reading about the death of Harry's parents helped you cope with loss in your own life? Have the books helped you escape from a difficult time in your own life? If you could ask J.K. Rowling a question, what would it be?
