Harry Potter's known for casting magical spells on characters in his books but it seems he could be protecting real life children too.
Hospitals have noticed that less children are admitted to their emergency departments on weekends when a new Potter book hits the shelves.
It's thought kids are so busy reading they stay out of trouble!!
But it's feared too much reading and not enough activity could ultimately lead to an increase in obesity.
Doctors at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford found that only 36 children needed treatment when a book was launched compared to 67 children on all other weekends.
They did their research on Saturday, 21, June 2003 and Saturday, 16 July 2005 when The Order of the Phoenix and The Half-Blood Prince came out.
It's now been suggested that a team of talented writers should get together to write similar books as a form of "distraction therapy" to prevent more accidents.
