Scholastic, the US publishers of the Harry Potter novels, today announced their fiscal Second Quarter results. Reuters reports that Scholastic "quarterly earnings fell 8 percent, citing lower results overseas and the impact of hurricanes." The article continues:
"Sales of the Harry Potter backlist pushed trade revenue up 11 percent, the company said. Sales of the latest book, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, continued to meet the company's expectations, a spokeswoman said.
Scholastic set a publishing record in July by selling 6.9 million copies of the book within 24 hours of its release."
